Description
The composition consists of three figures on a pedestal made of pink granite. In the center is Princess Olga, on the left side there is the Apostle Andrew Pervozvanny, and on the right are the enlighteners of the Slavic people Cyril and Methodius. In 1919, the vandals dropped the sculpture of Princess Olga and broke into two parts. The side sculptures were boarded up. Instead of Olga put a bust of Shevchenko which was originally planned for this place. In 1923, the sculptural composition was dismantled. On May 25, 1996 the monument was rebuilt. Authors of the restoration: sculptors Vitaly Sivko, Nikolai Bilyk and Vitaly Shishov.
